I am responsible for the success of customers using our software platforms around the world – that is business speak for “I am in software product marketing for NI.” I have been working with NI software for the better part of my 18 years here at NI – mostly in product marketing/management, with a few stints in R&D and on our Web team. We (product marketing) live in between the R&D juggernaut that is cranking out the amazing technology found in our software platforms, the marketing machine that we have to spread the word to the masses, and our sales force who is out pounding the streets everyday bringing LabVIEW and our hardware to life.
From this spot, we sometimes have to balance tough decisions – creating policies, packaging, and pricing strategies to maximize user adoption and revenue generation. I want to use this blog to share our thoughts on the LabVIEW platform and the background behind some of these tough decisions. I also feel like we can do a better job of providing a direct forum for our customers to weigh in on these decisions – we’ll see how that goes.
Personally, in addition to trying to make the world a better place with LabVIEW, I enjoy playing and watching sports, listening to music - particularly the latest blues phenom here in Austin clubs – and playing with my two growing kids.
